Public Health Accessibility for Un- and Underinsured
February - August 2007. Clegg & Associates facilitated an expert panel to guide efforts to expand access to health care for those who are uninsured or underinsured in King County, Washington. Clegg & Associates facilitated the process, compiled research, and created a final report for Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC).
The Expert Panel, comprising individuals with expertise in a broad array of health care and social services, held four highly productive meetings to discuss barriers and strategies to increase access to health care in King County. Clegg & Associates helped the expert panel to establish the scope of its work, define the types of data that were needed, identify gaps in knowledge and resources, develop areas of focus, and create recommendations regarding how King County can work collaboratively with the community to strengthen the community health safety net and improve access to health care. The recommendations, published in a final report by Clegg & Associates, include strategies for children and adults who are either uninsured (have no insurance coverage at all) or underinsured (have inadequate insurance to cover health care needs and face barriers to health care).
